Every year my school has a Dr. Seuss week. We get to dress up differently every year, but the theme is Dr. Seuss books, I didn’t research why we do this until this year. What I found out is really interesting because I love to read, Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss is why we celebrate this week his birthday kicks off the week of inspiring children and adults to pick up book and explore the wonders and magic of reading. My dad used to read me these and other books and my Aunt was a librian at a big college and she still reads alot. I love to read graphic novels and fantasy stories. My dad read me books everynight anything I wanted or was interested in. My dad and my stepmom still buy me all the books I want to read and sometimes in my life that is the most fun I have pretending I am in the magical place that I am reading about and the pictures help me see it in my mind. I love to read and in honor of this week I am going to ask if I can setup a lending library in my neighborhood and fill it with all the books I have read just in case there are some kids who like what I like but can’t afford new books.

I am lucky to have a family that loves to read and makes sure I have books that I like, I want to pass that along to other kids in my community. I hope more kids will do things like this to be nice and help each other.
